How to Use Nicotine Gum

To use nicotine gum for smoking cessation, the smoker should set a quit date. On that date, the smoker should stop smoking completely and use nicotine gum whenever there are cravings.

If the smoker cannot stop smoking completely, nicotine gum can be used to help reduce the number of cigarettes smoked each day.

Nicotine gum should not be chewed like ordinary chewing gum.

The proper way to use nicotine gum is as follows:

      1) Place one piece of nicotine gum in your mouth.

      2) Chew the gum slowly until the taste becomes strong.

      3) Once this happens, rest the nicotine gum between your gum and cheek.

      4) Start chewing again when the taste has faded.

      5) Repeat this process for about half an hour until the gum has lost its strength.

      6) Dispose of the gum carefully. It should not be swallowed.

Only one gum should be used at a time, and not more than 15 gum should be used per day.
